*Airbnb is an excellent option for finding accommodations in New Orleans, and we highly recommend staying in our favorite area, the Garden District. This charming neighborhood is peaceful and upscale, known for its historic mansions, oak-lined streets, and proximity to Magazine Street, which is full of boutique shops and great restaurants.
For a more vibrant experience, the iconic French Quarter is a must-see. While its stunning architecture and rich history make it a popular destination, please note that it can be noisy and bustling, especially at night, as it's a hub for tourists.
If you're looking for a more modern vibe, consider Mid-City. This area, known for its business district feel with high-rises, also boasts a fantastic selection of restaurants and cafes.
Feel free to share airbnb options you are considering and we can let you know if it is in a great area!

ACTIVITIES
Longvue House and Gardens
The Stein family's estate built in the early 1940s is renowned for its sprawling gardens and interiors. Inside, you'll discover a beautifully preserved collection of antique furniture alongside a remarkable display of modern art including works by Kandinsky and Picasso. Daily visitors are welcome.
Ride a Streetcar
The St. Charles Avenue Streetcar is one of the oldest and most iconic lines running from Uptown to the Central Business District. Its route takes you past classic New Orleans landmarks beneath the shade of live oak trees.
Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture garden
Located inside the City Park featuring works by Renoir, Henry Moore, Frank Stella, Robert Indiana, and Louise Bourgeois, it’s definitely worth a visit and a leisurely stroll!
St Louis cemetery No.3
New Orleans cemeteries, often called "cities of the dead," are primarily above ground and are architecturally breathtaking. With dozens scattered throughout the city (some dating back to the late 1700s), they offer a fascinating glimpse into the past. Lafayette Cemetery is the oldest but St Louis cemetery No.3 is the least crowded of the bunch
Audubon Park
Beyond the famous fountain out front, you'll find many beautiful structures especially if you walk to the back. The park features oak, cypress, and willow trees draped with Spanish moss. It’s not too large making it perfect for a quick stroll or a relaxing sit on the grass while watching turtles and local water birds.
Guided experience of New Orleans history by Rob Florence
Cemetery or Haunted French Quarter Tours are fun but our favorite one has got to be the Garden District Tour which focuses on architecture (don’t let him leave without taking you to Beyonce’s house). For a private, custom tour, call 504.947.2120.
WWII History Museum
Even if military history isn’t your jam, don’t miss this tribute located in uptown New Orleans. The interactive exhibits offer a unique experience beyond traditional museums.
When is Mardi Gras?
Mardi Gras falls on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. It would be an incredible experience if you would like to plan your trip earlier before the wedding to experience Mardi Gras. Please be aware that this is a very popular holiday and prices for flights and stays spike.
Why New Orleans?
We chose New Orleans for its unique blend of history, culture, and romance. The city’s vibrant spirit, stunning architecture, and incredible cuisine make it the perfect backdrop for our special day. We’re excited to share the magic of this city with you!
What is the dress code?
Thursday, March 6 – Welcome Cocktail
Dress code: Cocktail attire.
We have a special surprise planned, so please wear comfortable shoes for the evening’s festivities!
Friday, March 7 – Wedding Day
Dress code: Smart-casual with a touch of New Orleans flair!
While it’s not a black-tie affair, we suggest suit jackets for the gentlemen and vibrant, colorful attire for the ladies to match the lively spirit of the city. Of course, this is just a suggestion, and we encourage you to wear what makes you feel comfortable and festive!
What will the weather be like?
In early March, New Orleans enjoys mild and pleasant weather, with temperatures typically ranging from the high 50s to mid-70s Fahrenheit. You can expect a mix of sunshine and occasional light rain, so we recommend bringing layers and a light jacket to stay comfortable throughout the day. It’s a lovely time of year to explore the city and enjoy our celebration!
What’s the best mode of transportation around New Orleans?
New Orleans is a wonderfully accessible city where most destinations are just 10 to 15 minutes away from each other. For getting around, walking is a great option, especially in vibrant areas like the French Quarter. If you prefer a quicker mode of transport, Ubers are fast, affordable, and widely available. Additionally, the streetcar system offers a scenic and enjoyable ride. Whether you choose to stroll, ride, or take a cab, getting around the city is easy and convenient!
Are children invited to the wedding?
We’re keeping our wedding adult-only. We appreciate your understanding!
